K-3 IMPACT

Who K-3 teachers

What The K-3 IMPACT (Improving Mathematics Practices And
ClassroomTeaching) Fellows Program. Goals of K-3 IMPACT
are to help teachers:

    1. Strengthen their ability to teach mathematics through
      inquiry and through the concrete experiences of children.
    2. Improve their content understanding in mathematics.

When Throughout the school year, culminating in a one-day spring
mini-conference, called "Digging Deeper."

K-3 IMPACT for Early Intervention

Who Intervention Specialist, Inclusion Team, or Classroom teacher who works with students struggling in mathematics.

What A special version of the popular K-3 IMPACT Program that provides content in number sense, mathematical processes and resources that are effective in increasing academic achievement for all students. 

When Five Saturday sessions from October 10 - February 6.

K-6 Math Teacher Leader Network

Who K-6 teachers who form a cadre of practitioners knowledgeable
about Ohio's Mathematics Academic Content Standards, and
how to translate the Standards into classroom practice.

What The group meets twice a year and has a one-day conference
in the spring. Participants engage in active, open-ended
experiences related to:

Cost There is a $150 per person fee to participate. Contact your district's curriculum director if you are interested in being a K-6 Math
Teacher Leader.

 

COMET

Who Grades 3-6 and Grades 7-10 mathematics teachers from central Ohio school districts.

What COMET (Central Ohio Mathematics Enrichment for Teachers) is an intensive, year-long professional development experience based
on the Ohio Mathematics Academy Program's Academies.

 

(MS)2: Maximizing Success in Mathematics and Science

This network of curriculum directors from Franklin County and surrounding districts focuses on mathematics and science issues and needs in their
districts. Through monthly meetings and an annual retreat, common challenges and curriculum strategies are discussed.

Often, the group recommends or designs professional development sessions that are open to teachers from all districts.

Minimal financial assistance to or a professional development contract with the TLC is appreciated, but not required for involvement.
