K-8 Mathematics Leadership Academy

Who should attend?
K-8 teachers, coaches, administrators, curriculum directors will form a cadre of practitioners knowledgeable about mathematics content, instruction and how to translate the standards into classroom practice. 

Program Format:
Each cohort attends a two day summer session and meets twice during the school year 
  • Develop leadership and facilitation skills for implementing mathematics professional development
  • ​Each full day session will include materials and resources that Mathematics Leadership Academy participants can take back to share at the building or district level.  Topics (for 1 or 2 hour professional development sessions) may focus on effective mathematics teaching practices such as:  tasks that promote reasoning and problem solving, fluency, questioning, mathematical representations, mathematical discourse, and using evidence of student thinking.  Participants in the Mathematics Leadership Academy can use all materials as par of PD implemented at the district or building level.

Cost There is a $375 per person fee to participate. Contact TLC or your district's curriculum director if you are interested in being part of the Leadership Academy.
