K-2 IMPACT focuses on developing instructional methods which provide all students with skills that will lead to future successes. IMPACT instruction is student-centered and develops the critical foundations in number sense, measurement and problem-solving. IMPACT was developed by a statewide group of mathematics leaders and is managed by the Teaching & Learning Collaborative in partnership with universities, districts, and Educational Service Centers. K-2 IMPACT utilizes a train-the-trainer model to expand and scale the program statewide and nationally. Trained facilitators implement professional development in mathematics for K-2 teachers at the school or district site.
Join the K-2 IMPACT Partnership We are recruiting for ten site teams to join the next IMPACT Cohort. An IMPACT 1 facilitator training will be held in June 2020. IMPACT Programs can be offered at the school sites beginning in Summer 2020 through the 2019-2020 school year. Below you will find additional information about applying as a site team for the K-2 IMPACT partnership. Contact us with questions. FAQ (Coming Soon) |
What is the content of IMPACT?
Through IMPACT, K-2 teachers explore rich tasks that emphasize mathematical processes and challenge students to understand mathematics more deeply. Two separate year-long programs deepen teacher content knowledge and focus on research-based instructional practices.
IMPACT 1: Counting & Cardinality, Number & Operations in Base Ten
IMPACT 2: Algebraic Thinking
Specific content includes:
