LESSON 1: RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:
Students use logical reasoning to organize recipe strips that show how a cookie factory might design stations. As students sequence recipe strips, they consider if any steps in their sequence are missing, while adding these to their factory design. Students also determine if there is a way to simplify the recipe sequence without changing the ingredients. Students may consider a variety of different ideas and thinking that will cultivate a robust conversation about details and sequencing. The lesson concludes by taking this experience and connecting it to the importance of sequencing and details when writing an algorithm and program in computer science. |
